When it comes to diesel performance, there are a million different ways to setup your truck. Some folks want to prove a point by attempting to make big power on a single turbo. While this can be bragged upon and has been done somewhat successfully in many different ways, compounds are always going to be more efficient on the street. While a big turbo offers big horse power numbers on the top end, they present the issue of horrible turbo lag on the bottom end. So getting the truck moving from a dig is a challenge.
Compound turbos work very differently, while the smaller charger on the manifold gets spooled up very quickly, it would run out of air before big power numbers would ever be made, this is where the large frame charger takes over and provides plenty of air for that big top end power. Think of the SXE361 in this kit as a shot of nitrous to get the big turbo spooled, that's exactly how this works. If you are wanting to make big power with your 5.9L common rail cummins, this kit will get you there. I can definitely recommend some fuel system upgrades to make this work even better, give us a call 770-267-0773
